Recent Paintings
Norman & Dixie Bradley
February 5 - 28, 2010
Opening Reception
February 5, 5pm - 9pm
Drawing from influences as diverse as Baroque music, American Expressionism and Pre-Columbian art, Norman Bradley's dymamic paintings are as much the result of organic evolution as guided design. In his own words, "I am not anti-intellectual, but I do not think paintings. I do them. They arise much like having children in that they come into being as a new creation with their own character, and reality." A Professor Emeritus of Indiana University-Purdue University, Bradley has studied and taught studio art and art history in both the United States and Mexico and has been painting for more than five decades.
Boldly composed, vividly colored and richly textured, the recent works by painter, photographer, printmaker and author Dixie Bradley reexamine the bounds of still life and landscape. She has exhibited her work in Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, and Elkhart, and we are very pleased to bring her latest paintings to South Bend.
